A romantic retreat with a beautiful interior. 10 minutesâ walk from the coast. Tranquil location.
St Just 1 mile.
With dreamy surroundings and a beautiful interior, this romantic retreat for two is the perfect place to escape and unwind. Cot Valley is a well kept secret; a lush sub tropical valley with just a handful of houses, it runs down to the sea at Porth Nanven Cove. Step inside and discover an open plan living space and a serene bedroom with picture windows looking out to the stunning National Trust owned Architectural Heritage Site opposite.
The decor is contemporary calm, with a pocket sprung memory foam bed, crisp linen, fluffy towels and bathrobes ensuring a restful stay. Outside is a small patio with garden furniture for relaxing and dining. The sea is just 10 minutes' walk away so you can enjoy a morning swim followed by breakfast on the sunny terrace beside the stream.
Sitting pretty in deepest West Cornwall, the immediate surrounds are tranquil and green. It is easy to understand why it is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and it is also a Site of Special Scentific Interest. Less than a mile up the lane is the ancient town of St Just, the most westerly in Britain.
This friendly little place has several good pubs, cafes and delicatessens as well as several art galleries, including Kurt Jackson's Jackson Foundation. Fine dining pubs and restaurants are popping up all over West Cornwall so head to The Beach Restaurant at Sennen Cove or The Old Coastguard Hotel in Mousehole for a culinary treat. Wave chasers can surf at nearby sandy beaches Sennen Cove or Gwynver or head on around this dramatic stretch of coastline past Land's End to Porthcurno.
St Ives and Penzance are also within easy driving distance. Each very different, these coastal towns are both worthy of a day trip. For simpler pleasures, don your walking boots and head out on foot to explore this incredible corner of the county.
Cot Valley Cottage is perfect for walkers, beachcombers, golfers, artists, romantics and breaks at any time of year.

Silence is golden
One week at Cot Valley Cottage made us feel so relaxed it was difficult to adjust to life back home.
The cottage had everything we wanted. It is well appointed, the shower room, kitchen and living room have high quality furnishings and fitments. All of it was beautifully clean and prepared. You can park your car next to the cottage off the road leading to the sea.
The owners, Alex and Alec, were charming hosts and the welcome pack and fresh flowers were a wonderful surprise.
The patio surrounded by leafy Gunera and palms next to the bubbling stream made it feel like a tropical paradise and it was a very quiet and chilled-out place to stay.
It is just 20 minutes stroll down the road to Porth Nanven, perhaps the most secluded cove in Cornwall. The cottage is down very narrow roads from St Just, detaching itself from the rest of landscape, adding to the seclusion and privacy which are among its main attractions.
We hope to return to recharge our batteries and see Alex and Alec again. A beautiful place for a wonderful holiday.
