The small church of Towednack serves a hamlet between St Ives and Penzance. Beside the south porch are two weathered Celtic crosses, and inside are a pair of beautifully carved early 17th-century bench ends mounted on the north wall. the medieval font is also wonderfully carved, with faces at the corners and traces of original paint still showing.

St Piran's Chapel dates to at least the 15th century but may be linked to a much earlier monastery founded by the monks of St Piran in west Cornwall. The chapel was used for many years as a farm building before recent restoration. Just outside the churchyard is a holy well topped by a stone cross.

The architect was JL Pearson, who retained part of the existing Tudor church on the site to create a 'church within a church'. A 12th-century church on the site of a 6th-century cell founded by St Senara. Famous for a 15th-century bench end carved with the likeness of a mermaid carrying a comb and mirror.
