Not quite as expected
Arrived to find dehumidifier on full blast - always a worry - then found 2 bathrooms smelling heavily of damp, we had to leave windows & doors open with fans on for 2 days to air out - not great. Then found property does NOT have wi-fi as advertised, you have to go into a shed like room in the garden of the next holiday cottage to get any signal at all (you get none actually in the property) This room was mouldy, dirty, smelly & covered in dead flies etc, it had not been cleaned in weeks - disappointing. As there is only a freeview TV, no wi-fi means no use of any tablets for Netflix, sky, email etc, so a tricky week if you have teenagers with you! The property also had approx. 6 blown window casements, & playing pool was fun as all pockets were ripped so you had to catch the balls as you potted them so they did not bounce on the floor tiles! There is also a minimum charge of ?5 for the use of the sauna, which is not mentioned anywhere! To be fair the pool area & grounds down to & along the river were first class, the best we have ever stayed in, but I did not feel this property was worth ?1648 for the week. I lodged a complaint on my first full day, but the owners refused any form of compensation for the damp, mould or mis-advertisement of wi-fi - VERY disappointing as I was asking a tiny % back as compensation, not being silly & asking for a 50% refund or anything. For that reason alone I would not return.
